Salida ArtWorks mission is to nurture, encourage and derive benefits from the regions unique arts community through communication and collaboration.

The goals of Salida ArtWorks Council for the Arts are:

  • to assist and support existing groups and individuals engaged in the arts
  • to increase arts education opportunities.
  • to provide information to arts organizations and the general public regarding local arts activities.
  • to serve as liaison between the arts and businesses, government and educational institutions.
  • to expand opportunities for the public to participate in, experience and enjoy the fine and performing arts.

 ARTWORKS PROGRAMS

501c3 UMBRELLA ArtWorks Provides 501c3 status to arts organizations as an umbrella. This is designed as an incubation tool for startups and as a means to support other groups who can benefit from this status for their fund raising. Parties interested apply, and if accepted, funnel their funds through ArtWorks for a 5% fee. Anyone wishing to apply for this can contact ArtWorks through our website “Contact” page.

POETRY GRANTS ArtWorks received a grant from The Sparrows Poetry Festival in the amount of $2700. This Poetry Fund will be used for Salida Poetry Events, Chaffee County Poetry Workshops, Chaffee County Poetry Chapbook Assistance and a Poetry Festival. The Poetry Fund will allow ArtWorks to preserve and grow Chaffee County’s poetry community.

**The Salida Poetry Events may be open mics or other poetry events in Salida.

**The funds for Chaffee County Poetry Workshops will be used to lodge visiting poets who are conducting public workshops within Chaffee County.

**Chaffee County Poetry Chapbook Assistance will be awarded once or twice a year for the publication of individual chapbooks.
