I still own a 4X5 camera but my primary method of capturing an image, is with digital still or digital video cameras. Artist Summary: I am a photographer who is self taught who started at age 6 with a brownie camera from my parents.  My parents encouraged my creative sense as a child but it has taken a long time to realize it as an adult.  I am mixing digital photography with special printing processes moving toward mixed media eventually. I have started taking classes on sketching and am studying creative printing on my own. Shelley Dennis

Artist Summary: Shelley Dennis is a self-trained photographer, and until recently spent most of her time specializing in commercial and landscape photography.  Lately she has been listening to an inner desire to pursue her interest in Fine Art digital photography, using the basic photographic tenants of composition and light, and mixing them with new print media and processes.

Shelley readily admits that calling herself an “artist” is still difficult to comprehend.  She has a creative bent toward visual media and has seen the world through a view finder for most of her life, but now discovers that her photography has led her to a crossroads between commercial work and fine art.  With a background in stock photography, Shelley is now attempting to mix business knowledge from that world with the creative processes of fine art photography.
